MAVA Industrial SA, with the support of KAESER Kompressoren, Germany, held this year’s seminar in Plovdiv on the topic of "Optimization of Compressed Air Systems." The seminar provided a comprehensive overview of strategies and best practices for designing, maintaining, and optimizing compressor systems.
With special guest lecturer Mr. Andreas Anetselis from Greece, the event provided participants with valuable insights into the lifecycle of compressed air systems, covering planning, production, distribution, treatment, and energy-efficient operation.
Seminar Highlights
Understanding Compressed Air The seminar opened with an overview of compressed air’s role in various industrial sectors, from manufacturing to energy utilities and so much more. Attendees learned about compressed air’s historical evolution into a critical energy carrier for modern industry.
Compressed Air Production
Presenters covered a range of compressor types, including dynamic and displacement compressors, with a specific focus on reciprocating and rotary screw compressors. Technical considerations for selecting the right compressor—such as volume, pressure, and application requirements—were also discussed, providing participants with guidance based on industry standards.
System Design and Planning
Best practices for planning compressed air systems were detailed, with insights on analyzing site-specific needs and optimizing system layouts. This section emphasized the importance of airflow, distribution, and minimizing pressure losses to ensure maximum efficiency.
Efficiency and Cost Management
A significant focus was placed on energy efficiency, highlighting methods to reduce operational costs and boost system performance. Topics included system pressure management, leak detection, and heat recovery, equipping participants with effective ways to improve both cost-effectiveness and environmental impact.
Treatment and Regulation
The importance of treating compressed air to maintain purity and prevent equipment damage was discussed extensively. Attendees were introduced to treatment methods such as filtration, drying, and condensate management to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Interactive Q&A session and interesting conclusions after all
The seminar concluded with an interactive question and answer session, during, and after the event, allowing participants to ask their specific questions and clarify the practical applications of the concepts covered.
One of the interesting conclusions that one of the participants shared after the event was that his focus on knowing the different types of compressors and their operation had led him to unconsciously neglect the impeccable cleanliness of the compressor room, but thanks to this meeting he remembered how much the latter is important, precisely in terms of the productivity and efficiency of the machines.
Conclusion
The MAVA Industrial's seminar in Plovdiv, led by insights from Mr. Andreas Anetselis and Eng. Petko Petkov, offered a thorough education in compressed air system optimization. By combining theoretical knowledge with practical guidance, the event empowered attendees with the tools needed to achieve efficient, reliable, and sustainable compressed air operations.
